Aspeya announces first patient first visit (FPFV) in two clinical trials supporting development of ASY202 for the acute treatment of migraine
Lausanne, Switzerland – May 26, 2026 – Aspeya Switzerland SA (“Aspeya”) today announced the initiation of two clinical trials evaluating ASY202, an investigational inhaled formulation of dihydroergotamine mesylate (DHE), including one trial in adults with migraine and a second trial evaluating pulmonary safety.
Aspeya’s Chief Medical Officer, Dr Thomas Blaettler, commented: “Following the successful completion of our pharmacokinetic trials, we are pleased to have started both the VFC202-201 and VFC202-103 clinical trials, marking an important milestone in the ongoing clinical development of ASY202.
“These studies are designed to build on our completed Phase 1 program by further characterizing the safety, pharmacokinetics and, in the case of VFC202-201, the clinical profile of ASY202 following a single dose. Together, these clinical trials are expected to generate data to support continued regulatory interactions with FDA and to inform subsequent stages of development.”
VFC202-201 is a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled crossover trial in adults with migraine, designed to evaluate the efficacy, safety and tolerability of a single dose of ASY202 for the acute treatment of migraine.
VFC202-103 is a clinical trial in adults with asthma, designed to evaluate pulmonary safety, tolerability and pharmacokinetics following a single dose of ASY202.
Aspeya expects to report topline data from both trials in the first half of 2027.
